Dear Fellow Tuli Breeders,
Steve Mains-Sheard and Dave Mullins are very excited to announce that they will be joining forces for the 2nd Tiptree/Avondale Tuli Annual Production Sale to be held at Tiptree Farm, Elands River,Uitenhage at 11.00am on Friday 7th April 2017.
There will be 19 Bulls and 60 Females on offer.
The bulls on offer are from 8 Herd Sires and there are 4-5 Potential Stud Sires amongst them.
There are 30 Registered and 30 Commercial Females.
The Animals on offer are bred from top genetics and have grown up under tough veld conditions. Both herds run on virulent Heartwater, Redwater and Gallsickness veld, so will adapt under any conditions.
Fertility is a key selection criteria in both herds. This has led to Tiptree having an ICP of 398 days and Avondale an ICP of 378 days, while the Breed average is 409 days. This confirms our belief that the Tuli is a top performer and adapts easily in the diverse farming conditions of Southern Africa.
The only supplements the animals have received are standard summer and winter licks and the bulls have been rounded off for the sale on a modest amount of feed.
The sale will be held under the auspices of the Tuli Breeders Society, conducted by Hobson & Co. and the auctioneer will be Paul Mills.
All animals have been CA and TB tested, and vaccinated against Anthrax, Botulism and Quarter Evil. The bulls have been fertility and performance tested as well as being Falkirk indexed. We are particularly pleased with this year’s string and there are some outstanding individuals amongst them.
Detailed information regarding the animals on offer will be available on the Tuli website www.tulicattle.co.za and at www.hobsonandco.co.za from early March 2017
